Terms of Service
Terms of Service
Last updated August 7, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Fortress Fire Protection website, customer portal, and services. By using our website, requesting a quote, or using the customer portal, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or portal — you can still reach us by phone or email to do business with us directly.
Our Services
Fortress Fire Protection provides fire extinguisher and fire alarm inspection, testing, tagging, maintenance, and related services to commercial customers. Quotes provided through this website or the customer portal are estimates based on the information provided and are subject to confirmation once we've assessed the site in person. Actual pricing, scope, and scheduling are set out in the quote or invoice you receive and, where applicable, any separate written agreement between you and Fortress.
Customer Portal Accounts
The customer portal is provided to give our customers convenient access to their quotes, invoices, inspection reports, and account information. You're responsible for keeping your portal password confidential and for any activity that happens under your account. Quotes approved or invoices paid through the portal are treated the same as if signed or paid in person or by phone — an electronic signature or portal approval is a valid acceptance of the corresponding quote.
Payments
Invoice payments made through the portal or a payment link are processed by our third-party payment processor, Helcim, subject to Helcim's own terms. Unless your invoice or a separate written agreement states otherwise, payment is due 30 days from the invoice date, and balances still unpaid after the due date carry a finance charge of 1.5% per month (18% per year, or the maximum rate permitted by Texas law if that is lower). Card payments may carry a processing surcharge, which is disclosed before you enter your card details; paying by bank transfer avoids it. Disputes about a specific invoice should be raised with our office directly so we can look into it before any payment dispute is filed with your bank or card issuer.
Inspection Reports & Compliance
Inspection reports reflect the condition and function of the equipment we examined as of the date of service, and are prepared to help you meet applicable fire code requirements. They are not a warranty of future performance, and they don't cover the routine checks the NFPA standards assign to the property owner. You remain responsible for acting on the deficiencies we identify, for keeping the systems on your property in operable condition, for any fire watch or other measure required while a system is impaired or out of service, and for your site's compliance with the fire code enforced by your local authority having jurisdiction.
Acceptable Use
Please use this website and the customer portal only for their intended purpose — requesting service, and managing your own account. Don't attempt to access another customer's data, disrupt the site, or use it in a way that violates applicable law.
Limitation of Liability
Fortress Fire Protection is not an insurer. The amounts we charge are the price of the services described, not insurance premiums; they are based on the value of those services and the limits of liability set out here, and are unrelated to the value of your property or of any property of others kept on your premises. You should look to your own property and liability insurance to recover for loss or damage to persons or property. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fortress Fire Protection is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including lost profits and business interruption, whether arising from our services or from your use of this website or the customer portal. The total liability of Fortress Fire Protection for any claim, whatever the legal theory, is limited to the greater of $250 or the amount you paid for the service that gave rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Texas law, and nothing here changes the terms of any separate written service agreement between you and Fortress, which controls if there's a conflict.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the website or portal after an update means you accept the revised Terms. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
